Libertarian Communication Styles of Political Leaders: Impact on Public Adherence during COVID-19 Lockdowns

Abstract

This study examines the influence of political leaders' libertarian communication styles on public adherence during the COVID-19 pandemic, using a global perspective on government-imposed lockdowns. Through an analysis of various political approaches to communication, including those emphasizing personal freedoms and individual responsibility, we investigate their effects on public compliance with pandemic restrictions. By exploring case studies from around the world, this research sheds light on the complex interplay between political messaging and citizen behavior in times of crisis. Understanding how different communication styles shape public response to lockdown measures can inform more effective crisis management strategies and enhance public health outcomes.
